One fine, beautiful day there was a Raen Au ra lad and a Keeper of the Moon Miqo'te lady, the most unlikely of acquaintances, who became friends. Established in the Steppes of Azim and nurtured in secrecy, two unlikely partners founded a paradise that only the two of them dared venture into. Facing hardship and potential exile they began a quiet but humble life in the far east, careful not to reveal the nature of their relationship to newfound friends and residents. However, life is rarely predictable and the once thought impossible became possible.Tsai'a came into being and what was once a quiet, humble home shattered under the weight of reality, despite how beautiful their joining had once been. Upon being discovered, a father was pulled from his family, and a mother with her son was forced to flee to her former home in Gridania, but first, there was the Ruby Sea.Unable to afford the tax to cross such treacherous waters a merchant from Ul'dah recognized her struggle and offered to pay her way, in exchange for an unknown price, of course. Desperate to reach safety and to make it home a deal was struck. Once within the neutral territory of Kugane, the merchant reached out with a claim to his payment, and the unknown price was revealed.One baby boy with scales of shimmering white gold and lively twitching ears. A commodity for certain, worth a pretty penny or two in the black market. Devastated the mother fought to keep her boy with her but he was ripped from her arms and relinquished into the care of the ever clever merchant from Ul'dah.

What's a young man with little in the way of wealth and learning to do while growing up in shackles and fancy collars? Dream. Dream of seeing the sky. The morning sky. The night sky. The horizon. Dusk and dawn. Stars. The free bird flying overhead.Instead, there were stone floors and stone ceilings and cold bars and the clinking of metal chains and a prison so dirty that flat ragged beds seemed all too royal a reward. He knew of birthdays but had never celebrated his own, he attended parties but always as a spectacle for guests. Sometimes he was a servant-- balancing plates, dressing to code, and smiling without a sound. Other times he was an actor, providing conversation, and regurgitating practiced lies, always about himself and his homeland which he knew nothing about and all in hopes of lining the pocket of his master and receiving praise.Some say what is lost can never be saved.

Freedom. After years and years, aging into an adult and knowing nothing else but this life... Escaping ownership and the world underneath seemed almost nigh impossible. Overcoming conditioning, abuse, and countless other hardships-- all obstacles in the way. Fear. The controlling factor. The epitome of oppression. It feels almost impossible, but as Tsai'a's story goes, just like the miracle of his birth, one night the impossible became possible.A wealthy Viera dragoon once renown for traveling alongside the Azure Dragoon, and even fighting alongside the Warrior of Light, chanced across Tsai'a, disgusting himself as a wealthy traveling tradesman in search of something rare and lucrative for which to spend his coin. His proposition could not be ignored and so the Viera, called Ewan Fyth, found himself in Sai's company. It wasn't much longer after this discovery that Tsai'a's freedom had been set into motion.The escape was a success and to Ishgard they fled.

which are true, which are false?

• A rumor cycling about refers to the odd shape of Tsai'a's tail. Some wonder if he's diseased and that's why he keeps his neck, hands, and tail wrapped so tightly. Others think he has a growth defect or malformation on his tail appendage and that's why it's spiked. Ask about it?• Tsai'a has very soft features and because of this, he's been referred to as soft and pretty, among other things. Whether they're true or not yet remains to be seen. Find out?• Appearantly Tsai'a's been caught trying to procure travel throughout Eorzea and more than once he's been turned away when his coin turned up short. He's rumored to be very poor and empty-pocketed.• In the same breath, Tsai'a was able to afford some rather pricey items and procure expensive services-- rumor has it he's got himself a wealthy benefactor.

At this time I am only interested in character interactions and basic development as I get used to Tsai'a's character. Acquaintances, friends, enemies, and the like welcome.

here's some basic ideas to get the roleplay going

• Tsai'a's a healer so if someone were in need of some immediate care he would oblige right away and do his best to ensure a healthy recovery. (At the player's discretion).• Find his tail strange and want to ask him about it? Maybe catch sight of a scale or two along his neck and jaw? Tsai'a might be guarded but it'd certainly serve as a starting point for a conversation.• Tsai'a is traveling Eorzea, but he's very thoroughly avoiding much of Thanalan. Still, he could be run into at nearly any location outside of Ul'duh. In addition, he's associated with Ember Adventuring Co, perhaps the company services are needed and Tsai'a is a point of contact.
